Prairie Sky Jewelry Co.

Policies & Terms

At Prairie Sky Jewelry Co., we believe jewelry should be made with care, worn with intention, and built to become part of your story.

We are a small, family-owned jewelry studio in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Because our jewelry is designed, made, repaired, packed, and shipped by a small team, our policies are designed to give you clear expectations while allowing us to provide thoughtful, personal service.

By placing an order, booking a service, participating in a Studio Session, or otherwise engaging Prairie Sky Jewelry Co., you acknowledge and agree to the policies and terms below.

1. Orders & Production Timelines

Ready-to-Ship Jewelry

Ready-to-ship items are generally shipped within 3–5 business days of order placement.

Made-to-Order Jewelry

Made-to-order pieces are created specifically for you and generally require 2–4 weeks for production before shipment.

Made-to-order timelines are estimates rather than guarantees and may vary according to our current workload.

Large sales, holidays, or unusually busy periods may extend production timelines by up to one additional week.

If you have a specific deadline or need an update regarding your order, please contact:

hello@prairieskyjewelryco.com

Custom Jewelry

Custom jewelry follows a different production schedule and does not follow our standard 2–4 week made-to-order timeline.

Custom orders may take up to 12 weeks to complete. See our Custom Orders section below for complete terms.

Order Updates

Order updates are sent by email to the address provided at checkout. Text notifications may also be available if you opt in at checkout.

If you have not received a shipping confirmation, your order has not yet shipped.

2. Order Confirmation & Customer Information

You will receive an email confirmation containing your order number when your order is placed.

Please keep your order number available when contacting us about your purchase.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all information provided at checkout is accurate, including:

  • Name
  • Shipping address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Ring size
  • Other order-specific information

We will make reasonable efforts to correct information when possible, but we cannot guarantee changes once an order has entered production or has been handed to the shipping carrier.

The customer is responsible for providing accurate delivery information.

3. Shipping & Delivery

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. offers several domestic USPS shipping options. Available services and prices may change based on carrier pricing and availability.

Shipping Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing shipping insurance for valuable jewelry.

Shipping insurance is available through Navidium at checkout.

Once a package has been handed to the shipping carrier, it is no longer physically in our care. Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. is not responsible for packages that are lost, stolen, misdelivered, or damaged after shipment.

If you would like to upgrade your shipping method or add insurance after placing an order, please contact us as soon as possible. We can make changes only if the order has not yet shipped.

International Shipping

International orders are shipped via USPS First Class Mail.

Tracking is available while the package is within the United States. Once a package leaves the United States, continued tracking is not guaranteed.

Customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country.

Packages Marked Delivered

If USPS shows that a package has been delivered but you have not received it, please contact your local post office immediately and provide your tracking number.

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. is not responsible for packages marked delivered by the carrier. We are, however, happy to work with you when possible to help locate a package that may have been mishandled by the carrier.

4. Returns, Exchanges & Final Sale

We want you to love your Prairie Sky jewelry. If something about your order isn't right, please contact us as soon as possible so we have an opportunity to help.

Eligible Returns

Eligible merchandise may be returned within 7 days of confirmed delivery.

To qualify for a return, an item must:

  • Be returned within the 7-day return period
  • Be in like-new, unworn condition
  • Be returned in its original packaging
  • Show no signs of damage, alteration, or wear

Return shipping is the customer's responsibility.

Original shipping charges are not refundable.

Approved returns are issued as Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. store credit only.

Store credit does not expire.

We reserve the right to limit or refuse future orders from customers who repeatedly return merchandise.

Final Sale Items

The following items are final sale and are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange:

  • Sale items
  • Body jewelry, including belly and nose jewelry
  • Engagement rings
  • Made-to-order 14K gold rings

Applicable warranties, repair services, and protection-plan benefits remain separate from the return policy.

Natural Stone Variation

Many Prairie Sky pieces contain natural stones.

Natural stones naturally vary in:

  • Color
  • Matrix
  • Texture
  • Shape
  • Pattern
  • Finish
  • Overall appearance

Our photographs are taken in natural light and are not edited in a manner intended to change the color of the stones. However, monitor settings and the natural variation of gemstones mean that the piece you receive may not be perfectly identical to the photographs online.

If you need additional information or photographs before purchasing, please contact us.

5. Order Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled before production has begun in exchange for Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. store credit.

Please email hello@prairieskyjewelryco.com as soon as possible if you need to request a cancellation.

Once production or custom work has begun, cancellation may no longer be possible.

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. reserves the right to cancel or refuse an order when necessary.

6. Ring Sizing

We strongly recommend having your ring size professionally measured or using a ring sizer before ordering.

Ring size can be affected by temperature, time of day, finger shape, band width, and other factors. When possible, we recommend professional measurement.

If you receive a made-to-order ring and need a different size, contact us immediately.

We will be happy to work with you on an exchange for the correct size when applicable. A replacement made-to-order piece will generally be subject to the current 2–4 week production timeline, plus shipping time.

Customers are responsible for providing the correct size when placing an order.

7. Custom Orders

Custom jewelry is different from purchasing a standard piece from our website. Custom work may involve original design work, sourcing, casting, stone setting, customer approvals, and the handling or transformation of unique materials.

By proceeding with a custom order, you acknowledge and agree to the following.

Custom Turnaround

Custom orders may take up to 12 weeks to complete.

Estimated timelines will be discussed when the order is placed, but the final timeline may be affected by:

  • Supplier delays
  • Stone sourcing
  • Material availability
  • Casting schedules
  • Production schedules
  • Design revisions
  • Customer communication
  • Approval delays
  • Payment delays
  • Other circumstances involved in custom production

Custom orders do not follow the standard 2–4 week made-to-order timeline.

Any modification or customization to an existing made-to-order design is considered a custom order and is subject to custom-order timelines and policies.

Quotes & Invoices

Custom quotes and invoices are valid for 7 days from the date issued.

Precious metal and material costs can fluctuate, so pricing may change after the seven-day period.

Payment

Custom orders must be paid in full before delivery or shipment.

Financing may be available through Shop Pay Installments or Sezzle. Private payment plans may also be offered at the discretion of Prairie Sky Jewelry Co.

Design Fees

Certain custom projects require a design fee for services such as:

  • Original design work
  • Stone layouts
  • Sourcing
  • Renderings
  • Design development

The design fee acts as a deposit toward the final order total.

Once design work has begun, the design fee is non-refundable.

If you choose not to proceed with the custom order, 50% of the design fee may be transferred to Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. store credit for future use.

Design Approval & Revisions

Customers may be asked to approve renderings, designs, stone layouts, sizing, invoices, or other production details before work begins.

Once a design or production detail has been approved, additional changes may result in additional fees and/or production delays.

Custom Orders Are Final Sale

All custom orders are final sale.

Once custom work has begun, custom orders are not eligible for cancellation, refund, or exchange.

Applicable Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. warranties, repairs, and eligible Premier Care benefits remain available according to their respective terms.

8. Customer-Provided & Heirloom Materials

We are happy to work with customer-provided materials when appropriate.

This may include:

  • Gemstones
  • Precious metals
  • Heirloom jewelry
  • Existing engagement rings
  • Existing wedding bands
  • Breastmilk
  • Cremation ashes
  • Other meaningful materials

We will take reasonable precautions when working with customer-provided materials. However, previously worn, treated, fragile, damaged, or otherwise unique materials carry inherent risks.

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. is not responsible for damage to customer-provided materials that occurs during setting, resizing, casting, repair, production, or other work due to the inherent risks involved in handling those materials.

Customers acknowledge that materials provided to us may be permanently altered during the creation process.

Some transformations cannot be reversed or undone.

Rebuilding Existing Jewelry

We are also happy to discuss taking an existing engagement ring, wedding ring, or other meaningful piece of jewelry and rebuilding it into one of our existing designs or creating an entirely new custom design.

The same custom-order terms, material-risk provisions, timelines, and final-sale policies apply when an existing piece is incorporated into a new custom piece.

9. Customer Communication & Inactive Orders

Many Prairie Sky orders require information, approvals, measurements, photographs, payment, or customer-supplied materials before we can proceed.

Customers are responsible for providing requested information and materials within a reasonable timeframe.

If an order or custom project cannot move forward because required information, approval, payment, or materials have not been received for 90 days, despite reasonable attempts to contact the customer, Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. reserves the right to cancel the order or consider the project abandoned.

For eligible orders, payments may be converted to Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. store credit, less applicable non-refundable design fees or costs already incurred on the customer's behalf.

Store credit does not expire.

If you anticipate a delay, simply let us know. We are happy to work with you whenever reasonably possible.

10. Repairs & Fine Jewelry Repair

We are proud to offer repair services for fine jewelry and are happy to work on both Prairie Sky pieces and appropriate outside jewelry.

Our repair services may include, depending on the piece and condition:

  • Prong repair
  • Prong rebuilding
  • Head replacement
  • Stone setting
  • Stone replacement
  • Ring sizing
  • Chain and clasp repairs
  • Soldering
  • Structural repairs
  • Restoration
  • Other fine-jewelry repairs

We work with gold, silver, platinum, and other precious-metal jewelry, including engagement rings, wedding bands, diamond jewelry, gemstone jewelry, heirloom pieces, and everyday fine jewelry.

Every repair is evaluated individually. Not every piece can be repaired safely or economically, and some repairs may require additional work beyond the original request.

Rebuilding Existing Jewelry

If you have an existing engagement ring or wedding ring that no longer works for you, we are happy to discuss rebuilding it into one of our designs or creating a completely custom design around the original piece.

Because rebuilding can permanently alter the original jewelry, these projects are subject to our custom-order terms.

Repairs to Prairie Sky Jewelry

Pieces that require repair because of a workmanship issue within 30 days of delivery will be repaired at no charge.

Repairs requested after that period may be subject to repair charges.

We will always do our best to keep repair costs reasonable.

Damage Caused by Wear or Accident

Jewelry is durable, but it is not indestructible.

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. is not responsible for damage caused by:

  • Impact
  • Accidents
  • Improper wear
  • Chemical exposure
  • Misuse
  • Neglect
  • Loss
  • Alterations by another jeweler

We are always happy to discuss repair or restoration options.

Outside Jewelry

We will evaluate outside jewelry on a case-by-case basis.

Working on previously worn jewelry can reveal hidden damage, thinning metal, previous repairs, weakened settings, treatments, or other conditions that are not visible before work begins.

We cannot guarantee the condition or structural integrity of jewelry we did not originally make.

11. Jewelry Care & Materials

Prairie Sky jewelry is handmade and should be treated accordingly.

Many natural gemstones are fragile and can chip, crack, scratch, or break when subjected to impact or improper wear.

Please treat your jewelry like the art that it is.

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. is not responsible for broken stones resulting from wear, impact, accident, or improper care, but we are happy to discuss repair or replacement options when available.

Metals

Prairie Sky uses .925 sterling silver, .999 fine silver, and 14K gold, along with other materials specified in individual listings.

Our metals and stones are sourced through reputable jewelry suppliers, lapidaries, gem shows, mine owners, and other established industry sources.

Sterling silver pieces are hallmarked with “.925” or “STERLING.”

14K gold pieces are hallmarked with “14K.”

White Gold

Our 14K white gold is not plated.

Because it is unplated, Prairie Sky white gold has a naturally warm champagne tone rather than the bright-white appearance of rhodium-plated white gold.

This is intentional and is not considered a defect.

12. Prairie Sky Guarantee

We stand behind the craftsmanship of the jewelry we make.

If a Prairie Sky piece develops a workmanship issue within 30 days of delivery, we will repair the issue at no charge.

This guarantee does not cover damage caused by accident, impact, improper wear, neglect, chemical exposure, loss, or alterations performed by another jeweler.

Our guarantee is separate from our optional Premier Care and Premier Reserve protection programs, which provide additional services and benefits.

13. Premier Care & Premier Reserve

Prairie Sky offers optional protection programs for customers who want additional peace of mind and priority service for their jewelry.

Premier programs are available as a one-time purchase rather than a pay-as-you-go repair arrangement.

These programs are designed to make long-term jewelry care easier and provide priority access to our bench service.

Premier Care

Premier Care includes benefits such as:

  • Priority bench service
  • One complimentary resize during the first year
  • Complimentary return shipping after eligible bench service
  • Covered prong rebuilding resulting from normal wear
  • Covered head replacement resulting from normal wear
  • Covered accent-stone replacement
  • Preferred pricing on eligible restoration work
  • Eligibility for mail-in bench service
  • Center Stone Assurance

Premier Reserve

Premier Reserve includes the benefits of Premier Care plus enhanced protection and service benefits, including:

  • Priority bench service
  • Complimentary resize according to program terms
  • Complimentary return shipping after eligible bench service
  • Covered prong rebuilding from normal wear
  • Covered head replacement from normal wear
  • Covered accent-stone replacement
  • Preferred restoration pricing
  • Mail-in bench service
  • Enhanced center-stone protection through Center Stone Assurance
  • Additional benefits associated with the applicable Reserve value tier

Program eligibility and pricing are based on the original value of the qualifying engagement ring or wedding set.

Annual Bench Service

Premier members receive an annual bench-service opportunity, with a 60-day grace period around the annual service date.

Service may be completed in person or through our mail-in service.

Mail-in service is available for both Premier Care and Premier Reserve.

Center Stone Assurance

Center Stone Assurance is designed to provide peace of mind regarding the security of your center stone.

It is a priority setting-security service, not an insurance policy and not a promise to replace a lost or stolen center stone.

When you have a concern about the security of your center stone or its setting, we prioritize inspection and attention to the setting.

Center Stone Assurance does not mean that Prairie Sky will automatically replace a center stone that has been lost, stolen, chipped, cracked, or otherwise damaged.

Premier Program Limitations

Premier benefits apply only to eligible jewelry and services under the applicable program.

Premier does not cover:

  • Loss or theft of jewelry
  • Intentional damage
  • Damage caused by misuse or neglect
  • Work performed by another jeweler
  • Damage caused by improper alterations
  • Services outside the scope of the selected program

Premier benefits are tied to the qualifying purchase and are not transferable unless Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. expressly agrees otherwise.

Program terms, eligibility, and included services are determined by the plan purchased.

A Premier Care or Premier Reserve purchase is eligible for a refund within 30 days, subject to the applicable program terms. After that period, program purchases are non-refundable.

Prairie Sky reserves the right to inspect jewelry before performing covered work.

14. Studio Sessions

Prairie Sky Studio Sessions are hands-on experiences designed to give guests a closer look at the work that happens inside our working jewelry studio.

Because participants are working around jewelry-making equipment, tools, heat, metal, chemicals, and other studio hazards, participation requires acknowledgment of the Studio Session terms and safety requirements.

Studio Session Booking

Studio Sessions are approximately 3 hours in length unless otherwise specified.

A deposit or full payment may be required to reserve a session.

Payment associated with a Studio Session covers the experience and any pieces or materials left with Prairie Sky for completion according to the specific session offering.

If a remaining balance is due, final payment is generally required within 48 hours according to the booking terms.

Participation & Safety

Participants agree to follow all instructions provided by Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. and its staff.

Participants understand that jewelry-making involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Heat
  • Fire
  • Metal
  • Sharp tools
  • Machinery
  • Chemicals
  • Dust and particulates
  • Burns
  • Cuts
  • Eye injury
  • Damage to clothing or personal property

Participants are responsible for following safety instructions and using provided safety equipment.

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. reserves the right to end a session if a participant behaves in a manner that creates an unreasonable safety risk to themselves, another participant, staff, or the studio.

Results & Finished Pieces

Because Studio Sessions involve hands-on craftsmanship, no particular artistic or finished result is guaranteed.

Your finished piece may vary from an example or expectation due to the handmade nature of the process.

In some cases, Prairie Sky may need to complete, refine, repair, or otherwise finish a piece after the session.

Personal Property

Participants are responsible for personal belongings brought into the studio.

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property except where required by law.

Photography & Video

Studio Sessions may be photographed or recorded for Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. marketing, educational, or portfolio purposes.

Participants may request not to be photographed or recorded according to the applicable Studio Session agreement.

Minors

Minors may participate only where specifically permitted and must meet all supervision and consent requirements established for the particular session.

A parent or legal guardian may be required to sign the applicable participation agreement.

Studio Session Agreement

Certain Studio Sessions require a separate participation agreement or waiver. Where one is provided, that agreement forms part of the terms governing participation in the session.

15. Photography & Marketing

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. reserves the right to photograph completed jewelry and use those photographs for our portfolio, website, social media, advertising, and other marketing purposes unless the customer requests otherwise in writing.

We love sharing the craftsmanship behind the pieces we make, but we will respect a written request not to use a particular piece or project for marketing.

Studio Sessions may have additional photography and media terms as described in the applicable Studio Session agreement.

16. Communication

We do our best to respond to email within 48 hours on business days.

We are a small team simultaneously designing, making, repairing, packing, shipping, answering questions, and caring for customers. Immediate responses cannot always be guaranteed.

For order questions, customer service, repairs, custom work, or other important matters, please contact:

hello@prairieskyjewelryco.com

Social media messages are not a reliable method for handling time-sensitive or order-specific communication.

Please use email for matters that require a record or timely response.

17. Business Hours & Closures

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. is a family-run business.

There may occasionally be announced periods when we step away from production, shipping, communication, or the showroom.

Planned closures or extended periods away will be communicated on our website when possible.

Following the Christmas season, we take several days away from the studio to recover from the holiday rush and spend time with our families. Orders placed during this period will be processed and shipped when we return.

We observe Sundays as a day of rest and reflection. Communications received on Sunday will be answered early the following week.

We do not guarantee communication, production, or shipping on weekends or holidays unless otherwise stated.

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. reserves the right to determine its work schedule and operating hours as necessary.

18. Privacy

We respect your privacy.

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. does not sell your personal information to third-party companies.

Payment information is processed through our payment providers. Prairie Sky does not store or have access to your private payment-account information.

19. Customer Conduct & Right to Refuse Service

We are committed to treating our customers with respect, and we expect the same in return.

Harassment, threats, abusive communication, or other inappropriate conduct toward Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. or our team will not be tolerated.

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. reserves the right to cancel an order, refuse service, or restrict future purchases when necessary to protect our team, our business, or our customers.

Payment Disputes & Fraud

We take payment disputes seriously.

Customers should contact Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. first whenever there is a question or concern about an order or charge so that we have an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Fraudulent payment activity, fraudulent claims, or misuse of payment-dispute systems may result in cancellation of current orders and restriction of future purchases.

20. Our Commitment to You

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. is made up of real people.

We occasionally make mistakes. If something about your order, repair, custom project, or experience does not seem right, please contact us.

Our goal is always to understand what happened and work toward a reasonable solution.

We appreciate the trust you place in us when you purchase a piece of jewelry, bring us an heirloom, ask us to make something custom, or allow us to be part of an important moment in your life.

Thank you for supporting our small, family-owned jewelry studio.
