Store Policies

Turnaround and Order Processing Timelines:

Made to Order items run on a 2-4 week production timeline. For updates or individual timeline questions, please contact us via email at hello@prairieskyjewelryco.com.

Ready to Ship items are sent out within 3-5 business days of order placement.

All order update notifications are sent via email to the address provided at checkout. Text notifications are also available in addition to email, simply opt in at checkout. 

Turnaround times can vary according to our workload. Large sales can potentially extend processing timelines by up to a week. Please email hello@prairieskyjewelryco.com for the most up-to-date turnaround times. 

 

Shipping and Order Confirmations:

You will receive an email confirmation with your order number as soon as your order is placed - please use this number when contacting us about your order. You will receive a separate email when your order has been shipped, which will include your tracking number. All shipments are made via our online system - your tracking number will always be sent via email. If you have yet to receive a shipment confirmation, your order has not yet shipped.

Please be sure your shipping address and contact information are correct at checkout. Speedy checkouts and correct information are best assured by creating an account on our site. We do our best to edit order information when requested, but can do nothing once a package is in USPS hands. To guarantee delivery to the correct address, please double check all information prior to confirming the order. Buyer assumes responsibility for correct delivery information.

Prairie Sky is NOT responsible for any lost and/or stolen packages. 

 

Domestic Shipping:

We are happy to offer several shipping options to meet your delivery needs - First Class, Priority, and Express Mail. Prices are subject to change according to USPS adjustments, though we do our best to keep them as low as possible. 

If you would like your package fully insured, please take advantage of Navidium shipping insurance at checkout. We offer this service to allow you to easily insure every purchase you make with us. We HIGHLY recommend shipping with insurance. Once your order is completed it leaves our hands and goes to the post where it is no longer under our care. To protect your purchase please purchase insurance. 

Due to the hand-made nature of our products, Prairie Sky is NOT responsible for any lost and/or stolen packages. Again, we highly recommend insured priority shipping. If you have already placed your order and would like to upgrade shipping, please contact us ASAP to adjust charges before it ships.

 

International Shipping:

All orders shipped internationally are sent USPS First Class Mail,  which includes tracking until it leaves the USA. Beyond leaving the USA, there is no included tracking available. 

 

Lost and/or Stolen Packages:

If an item has been scanned in as delivered by the USPS but you have not yet received it, please contact your local post office immediately with the tracking number. PSJC is not responsible for lost and/or stolen packages, but we are more than happy to work with you toward locating an order that has been mishandled by the USPS. Additional insurance is highly encouraged on orders to mitigate any potential losses incurred in the shipping process.  

 

Sizing:

We highly recommend getting your ring size measured by a professional or ordering a ring sizer from our site to accurately measure your ring size. A wrist measurement guide is available in the resources section of our policies page.

Should you need a different size on a 'Made to Order' item than the size you've received, please contact us via email at hello@prairieskyjewelryco.com immediately. We will be happy to exchange your piece for the correct size. Please understand the replacement is likely to fall under our current 'Made to Order' turnaround time for production + shipment.

 

Return & Exchange Policy:

If for any reason you are not happy with your order, please contact us immediately. We will do our best to work with you to resolve the issue.

All sale items are final sale and are not eligible for return.

Body Jewelry (belly and nose) is final sale and is not eligible for return.

Engagement Rings are final sale and are not eligible for return. This includes Arabella Rings, Clara Rings, and all rings 'Made to Order' in 14K Gold, Moissanite, and/or White Topaz.

Custom orders are final sale and are not eligible for return.

Stones used in pieces are natural and can vary. All items are very well represented in listings, although it is possible color can vary slightly due to monitor differences. For your convenience, multiple photos are taken in natural light. Photos are never edited or altered in a way that changes the color of stones.

Our listings include carefully written descriptions - if for any reason you require more information about a piece, please do not hesitate to email us at hello@prairieskyjewelryco.com.

Returns must be sent within 7 days of confirmed delivery, in original packaging. Return shipment cost is the responsibility of the customer. Original shipping cost will not be refunded. Items must be in like-new condition and will not be eligible for return if damaged in any way. Returned items are eligible for store credit only - chronic returns will result in eventual order cancellation. 

PSJC is run entirely by very real human beings, who occasionally make mistakes. Please contact us immediately if you feel a mistake has been made with your order.

 

Cancellation Policy:

Orders may be cancelled until they are in progress for store credit. Please email us at hello@prairieskyjewelryco.com to arrange an order cancellation. 

Prairie Sky reserves the right to cancel or refuse orders at any time. 

Abusive emails warrant immediate order cancellation. Verbal abuses of any kind will never be tolerated by PSJC and will result in a permanent ban from future purchases.

Fraudulent PayPal and bank claims will guarantee the inability to order from PSJC in the future. All PayPal and bank claims will be responded to via PayPal as well as a personal email to confirm the claim and request additional information. We do not tolerate fraudulent behavior - future order attempts will be immediately cancelled and refunded. We have no problem contacting our and your DA’s to make sure they’re aware of illegal claims. 

 

Customer Response & Order Inactivity

To keep production moving and maintain accurate scheduling, Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. requires all requested information, approvals, measurements, photographs, or customer-supplied materials (including gemstones, precious metals, breastmilk, ashes, etc.) to be provided within a reasonable timeframe.

If we are unable to proceed with an order because required information or materials have not been received after 90 days, despite reasonable attempts to contact you, we reserve the right to cancel the order. Any eligible payments received will be converted to Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. store credit, less any applicable non-refundable design fees or costs already incurred on your behalf. Store credit does not expire and may be applied toward a future purchase.

If you anticipate a delay, simply let us know—we're happy to work with you whenever possible.

 

Communication:

We do our absolute best to respond to emails within 48 hours (on business days) of receipt, but please understand we are a very small team working to create, pack, ship, etc. PSJC does not guarantee or promise immediate email responses. 

Social media messages are a generally unreliable method of serious communication - for order inquiries or questions please contact us via email at hello@prairieskyjewelryco.com. 

 

Business Hours:

As a family company, PSJC occasionally takes announced time away from communication/production/shipping. This is always clearly noted on the homepage of our website to prevent potential misunderstandings.

After Christmas each year, we take several days to recover from the holiday rush and spend time with our families. Your understanding of our need to rest and recover is greatly appreciated. All orders placed during this time will be shipped upon our return to work.

PSJC observes Sundays as days of rest and reflection. Communications sent on Sunday will be replied to early the next week. 

PSJC reserves the right to determine our work schedule and hours as we see fit and necessary. We do not guarantee communication or shipments on holidays or weekends unless otherwise noted. 

 

Privacy:

You are guaranteed absolute privacy of information with PSJC. We will never sell your information to third party companies.

Your payment information is never stored in any way on our site. We have absolutely no access to your private account information.

 

Repairs:

PSJC is happy to offer repairs on our work. Pieces needing repair within 30 days of delivery will be mended free of charge. Repairs beyond this timeline will be charged, but we do our absolute best to keep repair charges low. Life happens and jewelry is delicate - we totally get it. 

PSJC does not offer general jewelry repair services. We recommend Shelly Mixer Silversmithing for all general jewelry repair. 

 

Guarantee:

Prairie Sky uses .925 sterling silver and .999 fine silver. All metal is sourced through reputable jeweler supply companies. All stones are sourced through lapidaries, gem shows, mine owners, and jeweler supply companies. All work is carefully made by hand and should last a lifetime.

If a pendant chain breaks, etc. we will be available to fix the item for up to 30 days from receipt date at no cost.

Most stones used in items are FRAGILE. If you drop a ring, pendant, cuff, etc. there is a chance the stone can crack. Please keep this in mind while wearing your jewelry. Treat your jewelry like art and with care.

Prairie Sky will not be held responsible for broken stones but will work with you on repairs/replacements by request.

All sterling pieces are hallmarked with '.925' or 'STERLING' to guarantee sterling silver metal quality. All 14K pieces are hallmarked with '14K' to guarantee gold metal quality.

Our 14K white gold is not plated, as none of our metals are plated. White Gold is a beautiful champagne hue, please note this is to be expected when ordering a 14K white gold ring.

 

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co Custom Order Terms & Conditions

By placing a custom order with Prairie Sky Jewelry Co., the client acknowledges and agrees to the following terms:

Turnaround Time:

Custom order turnaround times may take up to 12 weeks. Estimated timelines are discussed at the time of order, but may be affected by factors including supplier delays, stone sourcing, casting schedules, material availability, or other production-related factors.

Custom orders do not follow our standard “made-to-order” timeline of 2–4 weeks. That timeline applies only to standard made-to-order pieces listed on our website.

Please note: any modifications or customizations made to existing made-to-order designs will classify the piece as a custom order and place it under custom order timelines and policies.

Quotes & Invoices:

All quotes and invoices are valid for seven (7) days from the date issued. Due to fluctuating precious metal prices and material costs, pricing may be subject to change after that time period.

Payment Terms & Financing:

All custom orders must be paid in full prior to delivery or shipment to the client.

Financing options may be available through Shop Pay Installments or Sezzle at checkout. Private payment plans may also be offered at the discretion of Prairie Sky Jewelry Co.

Design Fees:

Certain projects may require a custom design fee for services such as stone layouts, sourcing, renderings, or original design work. This fee acts as a deposit toward the final order total.

Design fees are non-refundable once design work has begun. However, if the client chooses not to proceed with the custom order, 50% of the design fee may be transferred to store credit for future use with Prairie Sky Jewelry Co.

Design Approval & Revisions:

Once a client approves a design, rendering, stone layout, invoice, or production details, any additional changes may result in added fees and/or production delays.

Stone & Material Variation:

Due to the nature of natural stones and handmade jewelry, slight variations in color, matrix, texture, shape, finish, and overall appearance may occur. These variations are considered part of the uniqueness of each piece and are not considered defects.

Client Communication:

Delays in communication, approvals, sizing information, payment, or other client-provided details may extend turnaround times.

Customer-Provided Materials:

While every reasonable precaution will be taken, Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. is not responsible for damage to customer-provided stones, gold, gemstones, heirloom jewelry, or other materials during setting, resizing, casting, repair, or production due to the inherent risks involved in working with previously worn, treated, or fragile materials.

Clients acknowledge and understand that materials provided or used in custom orders may be permanently altered from their original state during the creation process, often in ways that cannot be reversed or undone.

Final Sale Policy:

All custom orders are final sale and are not eligible for cancellation, refund, or exchange once work has begun.

However, applicable warranties and repair services offered by Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. still apply to custom pieces.

Repairs & Wear:

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. is not responsible for damage caused by improper wear, impact, chemical exposure, misuse, neglect, or alterations performed by another jeweler.

Shipping & Delivery:

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. is not responsible for packages once marked as delivered by the shipping carrier. Any applicable shipping insurance claims must be handled through the carrier.

Inactive or Abandoned Projects:

Custom projects left inactive for more than ninety (90) days due to lack of communication, approval, payment, or response from the client may be considered abandoned. Any payments or deposits made up to that point are non-refundable.

Photography & Marketing

Prairie Sky Jewelry Co. reserves the right to photograph and share completed custom pieces for portfolio, website, and marketing purposes unless otherwise requested by the client in writing.

By proceeding with a custom order, the client confirms acceptance of these terms and conditions.
